Insights22 Festival events are open to all staff and volunteers who work for, and alongside HM Prison and Probation Service. That includes our partners in the wider Ministry of Justice, and colleagues working in the voluntary, private and statutory sector. You will see that some of our events have restricted audiences due to security and confidentiality reasons. This will be clearly noted in the event description.
UPDATE: We are pleased to announce that we are opening up our (unrestricted) online events to criminal justice students!! We hope you will join us to see the great work going on in this field.
All applicants are required to provide their work or university email address on registration. Please do not be offended if we need to contact you to verify our details. Some events have additional security requirements. These will be confirmed to you directly by the host of the event after you have registered for a ticket.
All Insights events are free to attend. However, you will need to claim travel and subsistence costs from your home department/organisation. Please seek any necessary approvals to do this before attending an event.
Most of our events are ‘first come, first served’, so once you have booked your ticket, that’s it – you’re going! To make it fair for everyone, please only book a ticket if you know that you can attend. If the event sells out, you will be added to a waiting list and will be notified when a space becomes available. For our VIP and more sought after opportunities, your name will be entered into a draw and the lucky winners will be notified by 22nd April 2022. Please only register once per event - duplicate entries will be deleted.

You will see that some opportunities are categorised as ‘Venue to be arranged/Flexible’ – these usually refer to our more exclusive events where the exact location will be arranged directly with the lucky ticket holders. We wouldn't recommend that you do this as there are so many events each day - but you can if you really want to! Please note that some events are taking place outside of the Festival period. Where the events are advertised as taking place for the full two weeks (9-20 May), this means that the exact date hasn't been fixed yet and will be arranged directly with the ticket holders.

Many of our online events will be recorded and will be available to watch on the website after the Festival.
Many of our events are likely to sell out quickly. To give everyone the best chance of attending their preferred event, please let us know ASAP if you can no longer attend by emailing [email protected] or clicking ‘contact event organiser’ in the ticket confirmation email.
